Post Night Shift Delirium

I left work at 7am this morning and had an unusual (and likely delirious) amount of energy. The 3 planters I ordered from Home Depot had been sitting unassembled for several days next to our shoe rack near the front door. I managed to put 2 together and sprayed each with a water-resistant seal and lined the bottom with burlap and newspaper.

Many bags of soil and compost later, my cucumber plants were transplanted into their new home. The second planter now houses daffodil and tulip bulbs as well as some pansies I picked up on a quick run to Lowes (when I ran out of garden soil).

And just for the heck of it, I dug a couple holes to permanently put my 2 corn plants into the ground. Needless to say I am now pooped!! Planter #3 will be saved for another day. This chica needs a nap!!

What I've Started

The only outside space we currently have is a tiny balcony big enough for a small BBQ and a couple folding chairs. And now!.. My new seedlings!  About two months ago I started with some basil seeds and some tomato seeds.  First try resulted in wobbly wimpy little things that did not make it in the 100 degree heat.

The second attempt was much better. I started these seeds inside instead and look how they've grown! Check out my one tomato plant at the top left of every picture. Success!!

I've also added a variety of flowers and now that the weather is cooler, they've all been transitioned outside to my balcony. Hubby is disgruntled he can't reach his BBQ through my jungle.  That's to bad....
