What I've Started

The only outside space we currently have is a tiny balcony big enough for a small BBQ and a couple folding chairs. And now!.. My new seedlings!  About two months ago I started with some basil seeds and some tomato seeds.  First try resulted in wobbly wimpy little things that did not make it in the 100 degree heat.

The second attempt was much better. I started these seeds inside instead and look how they've grown! Check out my one tomato plant at the top left of every picture. Success!!

I've also added a variety of flowers and now that the weather is cooler, they've all been transitioned outside to my balcony. Hubby is disgruntled he can't reach his BBQ through my jungle.  That's to bad....

Welcome To My New Blog

Hello All!!  I am a new transplant to Palm Desert, California who has a new found obsession for gardening.  Where in the world did I pick up this new itch to grow plants??  My parents are fruit tree and flower lovers but it has taken over 30 years for me to realize why they spend every morning walking around in their garden admiring their beautiful productions.  The bigger motivation is actually my skeptical husband who believes that it's impossible to grow anything green in the desert. And so!... I will be proving him wrong!!
How hard is it to get into the dirt, add fertilizer and drop in some seeds, right?? I guess we will be finding out!!
